Replaced has been Postponed Once Again

The release date for Replaced has changed once again. Replaced, which has attracted attention since its initial announcement with its pixel art style and cyberpunk atmosphere, has been delayed several times in the last two years. Developer Sad Cat Studios previously pushed the game to 2025, then to Spring 2026, citing quality standards. Now, another date has been revised for Replaced, testing fans’ patience once more.

Replaced Coming on April 14th

According to Sad Cat Studios’ latest announcement, Replaced will now be released on April 14, 2026. The date, previously announced as March 12th, has thus been delayed by over a month. The studio states that the game is technically complete, but they want to use a few extra weeks for polishing, stabilization, and final touches. The goal is to deliver a flawless version that remains true to the previously shared vision.

The development team also touched upon the demo process released on Steam. Initially quite stressful, this process allowed them to see the game’s strengths and weaknesses more clearly thanks to player feedback. They emphasized that comments regarding performance and gameplay balance directly impacted the final version.

It was also specifically noted that Sad Cat Studios is a small team and this is their first major project. The team clearly stated that they have poured all their energy and resources into Replaced. This shows that the delay wasn’t driven by a “get it done” mentality, but rather by a genuine desire to release a version they are truly satisfied with.

Of course, the successive delays have tired players. However, if this extra time allows Replaced to offer a more technically robust and vision-driven experience, then the wait may be worthwhile. Now all eyes are on April 14th; hopefully, this is the final destination.
