Resident Evil Requiem Hints at New Remakes

Capcom has been steadily expanding the Resident Evil series in recent years. With both new games and remake projects coming one after another, how the studio maintains this pace is frequently discussed. Now, some details in Resident Evil Requiem have caught the attention of fans. It’s thought that some mechanics and entities seen in the game may be preparations for future remake projects.

Resident Evil Requiem Lays the Ground for Possible Remakes

One of the details players have noticed is that some enemy designs and mechanics in Resident Evil Requiem are quite similar to those in older games. In particular, creatures like Titan Spinner and Plant 43 are being discussed as possibly being inspired by classic bosses from the series.

According to fans, these designs could be a kind of preparation for the long-rumored Resident Evil 1 remake. This is because there are striking similarities between these enemies and the giant spider and plant bosses in the first game.

A similar situation is seen in Code Veronica. Some locations and objects in the game are said to be reminiscent of scenes from Code Veronica. For example, a roulette table and underground cells seen in one scene have a very similar atmosphere to some parts of Code Veronica.

Of course, it’s not certain that Capcom will use these elements exactly as they are. However, the studio is known for cleverly using element and mechanical repetition in its game development process for years. Therefore, it seems quite possible that some details seen in Resident Evil Requiem carry small clues for future remake projects.
