Retro RPG Dread Delusion Announced for Consoles
As interest in retro role-playing games continues to grow, another title that feeds this trend has emerged. Dread Delusion, which stands out with its unique visual style and classic RPG inspirations, is preparing to meet console players after its PC adventure. The official announcement clarified that the game will expand its scope. Dread Delusion aims to bring together a nostalgic spirit with modern systems.
Dread Delusion Coming to Consoles
According to a statement from publisher DreadXP and developer Lovely Hellplace, Dread Delusion will be released this spring for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game previously went through early access on PC and released its full version in 2024.
Dread Delusion stands out, particularly for its inspiration from role-playing games of the 90s and early 2000s. Its expansive open world, retro 3D visual style, and classic RPG mechanics aim to provide a familiar experience for players who appreciate older versions of the genre. Character development is entirely up to the player, allowing for different approaches depending on play style.
Console versions will include all updates added to the PC version during early access. Hard mode, airship customizations, and additional content will be fully available to console players. This ensures that Dread Delusion brings the PC experience to new platforms without any changes.
On the story side, player choices are crucial. The quest structure with multiple endings, the diverse areas to explore, and the relationships formed with various characters directly influence the direction of the narrative. While combat isn’t always the only option, persuasion, exploration, and alternative paths are central to the gameplay. Dread Delusion is already attracting attention among games aiming to revive the classic RPG concept for modern players.
