ROG Ally X Demand Exceeds Expectations

The ROG Ally X generated significantly greater demand than expected in its first weeks on the market, directly impacting ASUS’s production plans. While the ROG Ally X’s sales exceeded expectations, suggesting the company miscalculated the demand for the premium model, the ROG Ally X was at the center of this strong demand.

Demand for the ROG Ally X Exceeds ASUS Expectations

According to data shared by ASUS at its investor meeting, ROG Ally X sales significantly exceeded the company’s quarterly guidance. The company predicts that the ROG Ally X product family will generate revenue between $96 million and $160 million this quarter and will stabilize in the $130 million range in subsequent periods.

Responding to questions from Morgan Stanley, ASUS executives confirmed that the ROG Ally X, in particular, sold out much faster than expected. The company stated that it is working with suppliers to increase production capacity due to the rapid out-of-stock nature of higher-end variants.

ASUS highlighted the development of the ROG Ally X series in collaboration with Xbox as a significant factor influencing demand. The company stated that this partnership strengthens the Windows-based portable gaming experience and supports the ROG Ally X’s positioning in the premium segment.

Management also shared that the ROG Ally X will become a permanent core product in ASUS’s gaming portfolio. The company stated that the ROG Ally X models will play a critical role in long-term growth and will maintain a prominent position within the diversified device ecosystem.

ASUS stated that following the strong sales performance of the ROG Ally X, the company has scaled back its production line. This allows the company to respond more quickly to increasing global demand and mitigate ROG Ally X inventory issues in the future.
