[Rumor] Rockstar Allegedly Bought the Domains of a GTA 6 Fan
The long-awaited GTA 6 continues to be in the spotlight not only for its in-game details but also for interesting developments on the marketing side. The latest claim suggests that Rockstar may have quietly acquired a GTA 6-related domain name purchased by a fan.
GTA 6 Domain Claim Excites Fans
According to a Reddit post, a GTA 6 fan purchased the domain name visitgloriana.com, referencing the name “Gloriana,” which frequently appears in the game’s promotional materials. The user, who redirected the domain to Rockstar’s official GTA 6 page as a joke, stated that this was done entirely as a fan-made troll.
However, according to the claims, things soon got serious. Towards the end of 2025, the user received an offer through an intermediary who wanted to buy the domain name. The user stated that initially a low price was offered, but the offer quickly escalated to a more aggressive level, eventually reaching an agreement for approximately $2,000.
Whois queries conducted after the domain sale made the claim even more interesting. The name MarkMonitor appeared as the registrar for Visitgloriana.com. This company is known for managing the registration of many domains previously associated with Rockstar’s in-game parody sites. This strengthens the possibility that the domain name was purchased directly by Rockstar or a company working with them.
Rockstar has not yet made an official statement on the matter. However, it’s not surprising to fans that a company known to have purchased domain names in the real world for in-game parody sites in the past might be pursuing a similar strategy before GTA 6. All these details signal that we may see more unconventional moves in the GTA 6 marketing process.
