Sands of Time Remake Release Date Announced
Ubisoft has finally shared a clear release date for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, which has been silent for a long time. According to the company’s latest financial presentation, the remake will be released in the 2025-2026 fiscal year, that is, before April 2026. The project, which was previously announced only with the phrase “2026”, has now settled into a more concrete timeline.
Sands of Time Remake Has Been Rebuilt From the Ground Up
It is stated that almost nothing remains from the original game. According to Insider Gaming’s report in early 2024, Sands of Time Remake is being developed completely from scratch. Every element, including visual quality, animations, combat and parkour systems, has been recreated. This shows that the remake is not just a graphical update, but is being prepared as a brand new production.
Ubisoft made the announcement with the expectation of “steady” new booking revenues. Accordingly, games such as Anno 117: Pax Romana, Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence are also planned to be released in the same fiscal year. However, the company states that it is working on other games that have not yet been announced.
A more striking change is in the voice cast. Yuri Lowenthal, who played the Prince character in the first game, is not involved in this project. Instead, it is reported that an actor of Iranian origin is working in order to create a more “authentic” atmosphere. This approach reveals that Ubisoft wants to be more faithful to the cultural roots of the game.
Ubisoft states that it will continue to share new details about the game in the coming months. However, the only thing that is clear for now: Sands of Time Remake will meet players before April 2026.
