New Silent Hill 2 Remake Update

Konami made a big comeback with the announcement of both Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid Remakes. These two series’ were dead for a very long time, thanks to modern culture’s Remake obsession, these two series’ are back to their active times, mostly at least.

Latest noticed detail show that it looks like developer team wanted to make changes about the look of James Sunderland. According to the database entry on SteamDB, Silent Hill 2 remake has received a new game icon on Steam, revealing an updated look for protagonist James Sunderland. Comparing the image with the character model from the trailer, it isn’t too hard to notice that certain aspects, such as the hair and the area under the eyes, seem to have been changed somewhat. However, it’s worth noting that the icon file itself is a low resolution image and, hence, may not accurately show the finer details of the updated look.

In the last month, Silent Hill 2 Remake got ESRB rating. Usually games took their ESRB ranking when they are just few months away from release. Maybe developers are already done with the game and this icon change is indicating announcement of Silent Hill 2 Remake release date.

Sony has a Playstation Showcase planned for May. Maybe we will get that date next month, we will see what future bring for us.
