According to official information provided by Konami, the PlayStation 5 version of the game will remain on sale with a 50% discount until December 2nd. This campaign is part of the company’s extended discount program for Black Friday. The fact that the PS5 version has surpassed two million sales since its 2024 release demonstrates the game’s continued popularity across platforms.

According to Konami’s content evaluation, Silent Hill 2 Remake features a new graphics system featuring ray tracing and advanced lighting technologies. Sources state that Bloober Team has created a structure that enhances visual realism while preserving the atmosphere of the original game. The new environmental sound design by the audio team is also a key innovation that enhances the game’s psychological impact.

According to the game’s review summaries, previously inaccessible areas of Silent Hill can now be accessed, and the town offers a wider gameplay area. Sources state that the switch to a third-person, over-the-shoulder camera instead of fixed camera angles conveys James’s fear more directly to the player. This approach, along with new combat mechanics, is said to have brought the game’s tempo up to modern standards.

According to Konami’s statement, steel pipes, pistols, and other classic weapons have been updated to maintain the same feel. Bloomberg sources report that improvements to evasive moves, the aiming system, and enemy AI keep the player constantly alert during encounters. These adjustments aim to combine the spirit of the original with a modern design.
