Steam Game Pizza Hero Going Free, But Limited Time
If you’re a fan of games like Vampire Survivors and other shooters with endless waves of enemies and upgrades for players to unlock, there’s a new game you should pick up while it’s free on Steam right now. Pizza Hero went “free” on Steam towards the end of June for a very reasonable price. This 100% discount will only last for a little while longer, but Pizza Hero will return to full price at an undisclosed date, so grab it for free now while you still can.
Pizza Hero is Free for a Short Time on Steam
Pizza Hero has been on mobile platforms for over a year, but came to Steam in June. A quick look at the developer’s YouTube video introducing the game shows how much the gameplay and art are influenced by Vampire Survivors and other experiences in the bullet-filled roguelite genre. In this game you play as a piece of pizza instead of a monster hunter. You still fight monsters, but instead you collect things like pizza toppings to give yourself extra powers on runs.
“Pizza Hero is a survival game, meaning you’ll need to use all your skills and strategies to take down relentless waves of enemies. Thanks to randomly generated levels and power-ups, no two games will ever be the same,” explains an overview of Pizza Hero. “To help you in your quest, the game features an auto-rotate feature that allows you to easily switch between targeting groups without having to manually rotate them.”
To compare it to some other games in the genre, Pizza Hero has over 20 different power-ups that you can collect during a match, and it still allows you to upgrade your overall stats after a run, and for those upgrades to continue between runs. A note added to the game’s Steam page towards the end of June confirmed that Pizza Hero would eventually become a full-priced game, but didn’t specify when that change would happen and how much the game would cost.
