Nintendo is preparing a special promotional event for the highly anticipated Super Mario Galaxy movie. The company announced that it will share the film’s first official trailer and new details during a Nintendo Direct broadcast on November 12, 2025. The broadcast will be available to watch live on YouTube, Twitch, and the Nintendo Today! app in the evening hours.

According to Nintendo, the Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct will air on November 12, 2025, at 7:00 PM ET. The event will feature information about the film’s production, new character introductions, and, most importantly, the first trailer. Nintendo has specifically stated that no new game announcements will be made during this broadcast. This means the event will be entirely cinematic.
The first film, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, was released in 2022 and was a huge success at the box office. The production, a collaboration between Illumination and Nintendo, briefly held the title of the highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time. Following this success, a sequel was quickly confirmed and its title, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, was announced.
A few leaks surfaced ahead of the film’s trailer. Pillsbury’s “Super Mario Galaxy”-themed cookie packages featured Yoshi and Bowser Jr., providing strong clues that the duo will definitely appear in the new film. Yoshi’s return, particularly after his brief appearance in the first film, has generated considerable excitement among fans.
