The Final Trailer for the Ballerina Movie Has Been Released
The long-awaited Ballerina is gradually approaching the theaters as the newest part of the John Wick universe. The final trailer for the film starring Ana de Armas has been released and has increased expectations considerably with action-packed scenes. The film takes place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and offers a deep look at the world of Ruska Roma assassins.
A New Step is Being Taken into the John Wick Universe in Ballerina
Ballerina is about the period when Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) begins her training as an assassin in the Ruska Roma community. The film takes place during the same time period as the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Ana de Armas described the physical preparation process for the shooting process as “painful but enjoyable” in a Q&A event she held on Reddit. The actress explained that her daily schedule included a low-calorie diet, strength training, and hours of combat and weapons training.
Not only weapons but also sword fighting play an important role in the film. Ana de Armas stated that she received special training for these scenes and emphasized that especially the long fight scenes were quite challenging for both the actors and the technical team. She said that the camera, lighting, effects and actor movements had to be in perfect harmony and that each scene required high energy.
The cast of the film is also remarkable. In addition to Ana de Armas, Keanu Reeves reprises his role as John Wick. Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus and Ian McShane are also in the cast. The film is directed by Len Wiseman, while the script belongs to Shay Hatten.
In the production chair are Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski, familiar names from the John Wick series. Ballerina aims to push the boundaries of action cinema with its long and uninterrupted fight scenes and to bring a new perspective to the John Wick universe. Tickets for the film are now on sale.
