The Final Trailer for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie has been Released

The Mario universe, one of Nintendo’s biggest successes in the film industry, continues to expand. Following the huge box office success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, attention naturally turned to the new film. Now, the final trailer for Super Mario Galaxy has been released, and it seems that the scale of Mario’s new adventure will be much larger this time.

The final trailer, shared by Nintendo and Illumination, shows that Super Mario Galaxy will focus on an interdimensional adventure. This time, Mario and his friends will fight against Bowser and Bowser Jr. in a story set across galaxies. The trailer particularly highlights cosmic worlds and colorful planet designs.

The new film is attracting attention not only with its visuals but also with its cast. Donald Glover voices the character Yoshi, while Luis Guzmán brings Wart to life. It has also been confirmed that Issa Rae will be playing the Honey Queen. These new additions indicate that the Mario universe will expand its cast on the big screen.

The trailer also contains many references that players familiar with Mario games will easily notice. One such detail is a brief appearance of Nintendo’s classic accessory, the R.O.B. These small references, as in the first film, point to an approach that targets both new viewers and long-time fans of Mario games.

The Super Mario Galaxy film will be a sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie, released in 2023, which grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic will return to direct, while Matthew Fogel is on screen. The Super Mario Galaxy film is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 3, 2026.
