The First Xbox Ally X Price Leak Has Arrived

The Xbox Ally X has been one of the portable systems that has been in the gaming world’s spotlight since the summer. Developed in partnership with Microsoft and ASUS, the device aims to bring the Xbox ecosystem to the handheld format. While other companies have remained silent on pricing as the official release date approaches, a new leak appears to have filled the void.

Xbox Ally X Price May Be Lower Than Expected

A retailer in the UK has shared the first pricing information for the Xbox Ally X. Images circulating on Reddit list the device’s starting price as £499.99. This figure equates to approximately $550 before tax, confirming the €599 price tag previously rumored.

While the Argos store, the source of the leak, incorrectly labeled the device as the “Asus Xbox ROG Ally,” the shared images reveal pricing information. The same ads also mention that pre-orders will begin on September 24th. This suggests that the official announcement of the Xbox Ally X could be imminent.

Meanwhile, global tariffs are a key factor in price discussions. The additional taxes imposed by the US government on electronics from China and similar countries directly impact game console prices. Microsoft’s second price hike for the Xbox Series X/S models this month suggests that portable devices may suffer the same fate.

The Xbox Ally X and the standard Xbox Ally model will hit shelves on October 16, 2025. Launching around the same time as the Nintendo Switch 2, the device is likely to intensify the portable gaming competition. However, the official price announcement will have the final say.
