The Hunt for Gollum may have Revealed Aragorn
As the cast for The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum continues to take shape, a striking rumor has surfaced. According to the latest information, young actor Leo Woodall may be in talks to play Aragorn. While there’s no official announcement yet, this claim has already sparked considerable debate among Middle-earth fans.
The Hunt for Gollum Seeks a New Actor for Aragorn
According to the rumors, a younger actor is being considered to play Aragorn. The character, previously portrayed by Viggo Mortensen, was one of the most important heroes of the original Lord of the Rings film trilogy. While Mortensen has previously stated he might return if a suitable script were available, the latest claims suggest the producers may be moving in a different direction.
According to leaks, Leo Woodall is among the names being considered for the main male role other than Gollum in the film. While the character’s name hasn’t been officially announced, many sources believe it’s Aragorn, also known as Strider. Woodall has gained attention particularly for his performance in the TV series The White Lotus and has recently become one of the rising young actors.
The film takes place approximately 20 years before the events of The Fellowship of the Ring. During this period, Aragorn and Gandalf are known to be searching for Gollum in Middle-earth. In Tolkien’s works, it is described that Aragorn captures and interrogates Gollum at one point, suggesting that the character could play a significant role in the film.
The film is directed by Andy Serkis, who portrayed Gollum for many years. The project also includes Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens, all creative figures in the Middle-earth cinematic universe. The reunion of these names increases expectations that the film will capture the spirit of the original trilogy.
