The New Wolfenstein Game Might Have Been Cancelled

MachineGames has long been known as a studio known for the Wolfenstein series. However, the team, which has recently turned its attention to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has left fans of the series in silence. Now, a clue from the studio suggests that a new Wolfenstein game may have been quietly canceled.

The New Wolfenstein Game Might Have Been Cancelled

The Canceled Project May Be Wolfenstein

According to the information on the LinkedIn profile of a former MachineGames employee, the studio canceled an unnamed project it was working on between 2022 and 2024. This information was noticed by careful users on social media, and the possibility that the canceled game could belong to the Wolfenstein series began to be discussed. Because the studio has only two major brands known so far: Wolfenstein and Indiana Jones.

The last game in the series, Youngblood, received criticism for both its story and gameplay, and the absence of the B.J. Blazkowicz character was felt. For this reason, many players thought that MachineGames was preparing a new game to bring the series back to its former glory. However, with the cancellation in question, these hopes seem to have faded.

Bethesda’s previously leaked roadmap did not directly mention any Wolfenstein games. However, it is still unknown what the projects hidden behind some code names are. This strengthens the possibility that the canceled game may actually be one of these names.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle attracted great attention with the PlayStation launch and showed that MachineGames can still produce strong games. However, this is not enough for many fans. A long-awaited new game that carries the spirit of classic Wolfenstein is still wanted. For now, all that can be done is wait for new news from the studio.
