The release date for Aces of Thunder has been confirmed
For players closely following the flight simulation genre, Aces of Thunder has been under the radar for a long time. Developed by Gaijin Entertainment, the game, which stands out especially for its virtual reality focus, has finally received an official release date. According to the announcement, Aces of Thunder will be released on February 3, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC, and will support PlayStation VR2 and PC VR headsets.
What Will Aces of Thunder Offer?
Aces of Thunder is positioned as an air combat simulation centered around legendary aircraft from the World War II and World War I eras. The game is designed to be played entirely from inside the cockpit, and this choice aims for maximum immersion, especially for VR users. While the development team emphasizes that the flight and damage model is derived from War Thunder, they also clearly state that realism is one of the main priorities.
Players will be able to fly iconic World War II aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, Spitfire, Bf 109, and A6M Zero, as well as World War I planes like the Fokker Dr. I and SPAD S.XIII. A total of 29 different aircraft will be featured in the game, with historically accurate cockpits and weapon systems. The map will include 15 different battlefields covering the Western, Eastern, and Pacific fronts.
Aces of Thunder isn’t just for VR players. The game can also be played without virtual reality equipment and, thanks to HOTAS support, will target simulation enthusiasts. In addition to single-player missions, online multiplayer dogfights will be a significant part of the experience.
