The Smurfs Movie Trailer Released
The Smurfs series, which has been silent for a long time, is returning with a new musical film. The animation-live-action hybrid production prepared by Paramount Pictures draws attention with both its visual style and music. The first trailer released focuses on the tiny blue characters living happily in the Smurf Village and their leader Papa Smurf. However, things get complicated when Papa Smurf is kidnapped by the evil Razamel. At this point, Smurfette steps in and leads a rescue mission that extends to the real world.
The Smurfs and Rihanna Will Go on an Adventure Together
The film is directed by Chris Miller and Matt Landon. The script was written by Pam Brady. The voice cast is all-star: John Goodman voices Papa Smurf, while Rihanna brings Smurfette to life. Rihanna also contributes greatly to the musical aspect of the production by writing original songs for the film. Her new song “Friend of Mine” will meet music lovers this Friday.
In the trailer, the animation style inspired by classic Smurfs drawings immediately draws attention. Director Miller states that they were directly inspired by Peyo’s drawings in the film and that this simple but energetic style shapes both the visual world and the story. Even the thought bubbles and movement lines in the comics are directly reflected in the film.
The character Razamel appears as the brother of Gargamel, whom we know from the original series, and takes on the role of the main villain of the film. It is already a matter of curiosity how this new character will bring to the series. At the end of the trailer, clues are given about the chaotic scenes that will take place between the real world and the Smurf Village.
The voice cast also includes names such as Natasha Lyonne, Nick Offerman, Amy Sedaris, Daniel Levy, Octavia Spencer, Sandra Oh, James Corden and Kurt Russell. The trailer both creates a sense of nostalgia and promises a modern interpretation. The new Smurfs movie is preparing to offer a summer cinema experience that will entertain the whole family on July 18.
