Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered Announced
Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered announced by Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics, which will include enhanced versions of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and The Angel of Darkness.
Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered
Released in 1999, Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation follows the heroine Lara Croft in her fourth adventure as she uncovers the lost tomb of the Egyptian God Set and faces her arch-rival, the archeologist Werner Von Croy. Tomb Raider: Chronicles came out in the following year and focused on the untold adventures of Lara Croft as her close friends reminisce about her past. Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness was a divisive entry in the franchise in which Lara is accused of murder and enters a mysterious conspiracy involving ancient artifacts.
Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered will make it’s launch on February 14, 2025, for PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and pre orders are already open. According to Aspis, the collection will feature improved visuals similar to the ones seen in the previous trilogy, along with modern control options, a photo mode, new quality-of-life features, and full achievement/trophy support. While games like The Angel of Darkness are not considered among the best Tomb Raider games, the collection has other less divisive entries and will likely be a good pick for fans who enjoyed the first remaster. The collection is being sold for $30, an adequate price for three classic games if the remaster proves as good as the previous release.
This year was good for all Tomb Raider fans so far. Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered made it’s launch, but also Netflix recently released an animated series starring Lara Croft herself.
The new Tomb Raider remasters are good appetizers while fans await Lara’s next title. Confirmed to be in development by Crystal Dynamics and set to be published by Amazon Games, a new Tomb Raider reboot has been in the works for years. Amazon Games’s head Christoph Hartmann recently confirmed that the next Tomb Raider game is progressing smoothly, which is good news for fans. Unfortunately, the game does not have an official release date yet, so it may still be a way out. More news may potentially be on the way in 2025.
