Trails in the Sky Saga Gets a Remake for PS5
Nihon Falcom’s classic RPG game Trails in the Sky, released in 2004, is being remade exclusively for the PS5 platform in 2025. The remake, which was first announced during a Nintendo Direct, attracted great attention from gamers. Now, an official trailer and release date have been shared, as well as more details about the project. The game, called Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, draws attention with its completely renewed 3D graphics and updated mechanics. This production, which will be published by GungHo Online Entertainment in the West, will be the first game in the series to be ported to modern consoles.
Trails in the Sky Returns with Completely Refreshed Graphics
The Trails in the Sky remake offers major innovations not only in terms of graphics, but also in terms of gameplay. A new combat system that increases the game’s action elements brings a fresh breath to the series. While these innovations please old fans, they also offer an attractive opportunity for players who will experience the series for the first time.
It is also noteworthy that the publisher of the series in the West is GungHo Online Entertainment instead of NIS America. This change may be a choice made for the game to be released simultaneously globally. Nihon Falcom will be launching simultaneously worldwide for the first time with this project.
According to the statements of the producers, the Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter remake may also be a start for remakes of other games in the series. This situation especially strengthens the possibility that the other games in the Trails in the Sky trilogy may also come to PS5. The game will both create nostalgia for old fans and bring new players to the series.
