Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Coming to Consoles

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have officially announced the console version of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. . The game, which was released on PC on January 28, is now coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 platforms. The announcement was made by series producer Seiji Aoki at the Virtua Fighter Direct 2025 Spring event.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is Opening to All Platforms

According to the statement made at the event, R.E.V.O. will not be just a port. SEGA announced that it will offer cross-platform support on all versions due to popular demands from players. The rollback netcode system used in the Steam version will be supported on all platforms. This means a more stable and low-latency experience in online fights.

SEGA is not content with just technical support when porting the game to different platforms. It was stated that new content and additional features are on the way, and it was announced that details about these will be shared in the coming days. The development team positions R.E.V.O. as a redesigned experience for players, not a “simple port”. This may indicate updated graphics, balance settings and potential surprise characters.

Information was given at the event not only about R.E.V.O., but also about the “New Virtua Fighter Project”. It was confirmed that Wolf Hawkfield, one of the classic characters of the series, will also be in the new game. Producer Riichiro Yamada stated that the characters’ pasts and fighting motivations will be conveyed much more clearly in this new project. It is aimed to offer players a more relatable character, especially with Wolf’s story based on his passion for wrestling.

Virtua Fighter has been a series that has stood out with its technical gameplay and realistic fighting mechanics for many years. How this long-established series will take shape in the modern age with new content is eagerly awaited by fans on all platforms. The series is expected to regain momentum with Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. The date when the game will come to consoles is currently unknown.
