Witcher Season 4 Will Reveal Geralt’s Transformation
The fourth season of The Witcher series seems to answer one of the questions that fans have been most curious about after Henry Cavill’s departure. The producers, who wanted to make Liam Hemsworth’s transition to the role of Geralt a logical ground within the story, preferred to use an unusual narrative technique.
How Will Witcher Season 4 Explain Geralt’s Change?
According to Redanian Intelligence, the new season of the series will be told to the audience through the mouth of a traveling narrator named Stribog. This narrator tells the adventures of Geralt and Ciri to a young girl named Nimue. Thus, the story will progress as Stribog remembers and interprets it. This situation will create a suitable ground to explain Geralt’s different appearance. The fact that the character of Stribog has never come face to face with Geralt opens the door to changes in the visual details of the story told.
The new season of the series will open with Stribog telling the story to the children and will be colored with scenes where the children intervene and try to correct the details they got wrong. This narrative structure is similar to Varric’s narration in Dragon Age 2. There, Varric would sometimes exaggerate the events and tell Cassandra the story.
The production team also re-shot the scene where Geralt fights Vilgefortz and used Hemsworth in this scene. In this way, the message will be given to the audience that Geralt, as told by Stribog, is now Hemsworth. It is already a matter of curiosity how much this method will ease the fans’ longing for Cavill.
The fourth season of The Witcher is planned to be released this year. The new season aims to impress both old and new viewers with its storytelling. However, Cavill’s absence leaves the series face to face with a different test.
