Xbox Update Brings Cross-Device Play History

Microsoft, aiming to make the Xbox experience more fluid and connected, whether on a console, PC, or Windows-based portable device, has released a new update for Xbox Insiders. This update expands the “single library” system announced a few weeks ago and adds a new feature that supports cross-device play history. The PC app also includes the option to filter console games playable via the cloud.

With the new update, users will be able to easily view their play history on the “Home” screen, regardless of the device they’re playing on. Under the large square under “Play Again,” not only the last played game but also all games played from different Xbox devices will be displayed in a list. This makes returning to a game where you left off much more convenient.

Another notable innovation is the filtering system developed for cloud-based games. With this new filter for the Xbox app, players will be able to see all cloud-compatible console games they own or access through Game Pass in one place. This collection spans all generations, from the original Xbox to Series X|S.

The new features offer significant convenience, especially for users who continue their gaming experience on PC and portable devices. This move supports Xbox’s vision of making game access more flexible and platform-agnostic. These improvements to Microsoft’s cloud gaming strategy are also significant for the future of gaming.

Meanwhile, another piece of news from Xbox has sparked controversy. According to an internal statement, 200 employees at King Studio have been laid off and will be replaced by AI-powered systems. This development has reignited the debate about whether automation will replace human labor in the gaming industry.
