AOC 24V5CBK review

In our AOC 24V5CBK review, we look at the general features of the monitor, which you can use both work and game-oriented and stands out with its pivot mode.

Especially after the pandemic period, the importance of the monitors we use has increased considerably. Since many companies have switched to a hybrid layout, we started to look for quality in the equipment and peripherals we use at home. Of course, monitors are at the top of these products. Here in our AOC 24V5CBK review content, we take a closer look at the company’s monitor, which is more business-oriented but not lagging behind on the gaming side.

Gaming Monitor AOC 24V5CBK review

AOC 24V5CBK model has very elegant and simple lines. If you are in favour of simplicity like me, I am sure you will like it very much. In a classic way, we encounter a thin frame structure on three sides. Despite the plastic body, it feels like a very high quality material and this frame structure has put the monitor in an advantageous position in multiple use.

Design

I also like the foot part of the monitor. It does not take up much space and the monitor looks stylish on the table. This square shaped metal stand structure also allows the monitor to stand firmly. The space here adds a nice detail to the connection point and brings a good advantage for cable organisation.

The monitor goes up to 130 mm in height adjustment and has a 25-degree tilt. You can turn it up to 28 degrees in right and left rotation. It is also possible to use it in pivot mode, which was definitely my favourite feature. With its size advantage and ergonomics, this monitor is also very suitable for secondary use.

I use a 32-inch monitor on the main monitor side and during the test I used this monitor in pivot mode, both as the main monitor but mostly as a 2nd monitor. I previously had a 27-inch monitor, but after using the 24-inch AOC 24V5CBK model, I can say that I realised that this size is actually much more advantageous for 2nd monitor use in pivot mode.

I can say that it offers you enough space with its double window in pivot mode and it looks much more elegant on your desk as it is much more compatible with 27 or 32 inch monitors. Before forgetting, you can turn it in both directions in pivot mode. This gives you the opportunity to adjust the frame structure. Since this support is unilateral in some monitors, a prominent feature is offered in this regard.

When we look at the input and output units, we were very pleased to see the Type C connection. This port with Gen 3.2 connection brings both power and video support. Thanks to its power supply up to 65W, it has the capacity to charge not only your accessories such as keyboards and mice, but also your products such as smartphones and laptops.

There is also an HDMI 1.4, a DisplayPort 1.2, a DisplayPort 1.2, a 3.5 mm jack input and four USB ports, including Gen 3.2. It would not be wrong to say that the company has not been very cowardly in terms of connectivity. Not forgetting, the monitor has two built-in speakers with a total power of 6W and offers a good performance in daily use.

Analogue structure is used for control on the back. It is quite simple to use the interface of the monitor, which also has vesa support, with this analogue. It makes it easy to switch between game modes or input units.

The AOC 24V5CBK model is a monitor with 1080P resolution and an IPS panel. The backlight type WLED is used and offers a clear visuality with anti-reflection feature. Unless there is a very strong light such as studio light in the environment, more precisely, under normal working conditions, the reflection is indeed minimised. I can say that AOC has done a good job in this regard. With 1000:1 dynamic and 20M:1 intelligent contrast ratios, it has a brightness of up to 300 nits.

The 23.8-inch monitor has very good colour accuracy. Both clarity and colour accuracy make this monitor a good choice for video and photo applications as well as daily use. Of course, it should be taken into account that it is not a full professional monitor. But if you are dealing with more amateur photography and video work like me, I can say that it is at a sufficient level.

The monitor has a grey-to-gray response time of 4 MS. MPRT response time is 1 MS. Considering its size, it has a good advantage especially in competitive games. Of course, the Hz value is kept at 75. When viewed as an office monitor, it is quite sufficient, but when we look at the competitive game side, which we praise with other features, we can say that this value is insufficient. It would be great if it went over 100 Hz, but then it would be necessary to remove it from the office monitor class. of course, we should not forget the price balance.

AMD’s FreeSync technology is supported on the monitor via Display Port input. The monitor also has an FPS counter for gamers. Of course, I don’t need to mention features such as Flicker Free or low blue light certification, which have become classic features.

Conclusion

As a result, the AOC 24V5CBK model was a monitor that I liked both with its design and ergonomics. Especially after using it as a side monitor in pivot mode for a long time, I have to say that I felt the lack of it very much. The monitor has 28W power consumption.

In addition, one of my favourite points was that all cables were included in the box content and there was no separate adapter. In other words, by connecting the monitor with a power cable, you can use the connections on it for your laptop and provide a very stylish look on your desk.
