A security claim has surfaced in the online gaming world. According to a new allegation regarding ARC Raiders, the game may be recording more user data than expected during Discord integration. The issue quickly became a topic of discussion on social media and within player communities.

ARC Raiders Discord Integration Sparks Controversy

According to the claim, computer engineer Timothy Meadows noticed during his investigations that the game was locally saving some private messages to the computer when a Discord account was connected. Meadows suggested that Discord authentication keys were also being stored in the system during this process. This situation theoretically created the possibility of unauthorized access, quickly causing concern among players.

The developer studio Embark Studios quickly issued a statement on the matter. They stated that the problem stemmed from the Discord SDK logging more data than expected. According to the information shared, this data was stored locally on players’ computers and was neither reviewed by the studio nor sent to external servers.

Emberk Studios also released a quick update to resolve the issue. The hotfix clarifies that the Discord integration no longer logs this type of data. Furthermore, the development team announced that a more comprehensive security audit would be conducted on the system.
