CYBERLEEK has already stirred things up enough with GTA 6 leaks in the last few days, but now things have taken it to another level. The leaker has launched a paid poll on its website to decide which footage will be released next. Players can participate in this poll using CYBERLEEK’s own cryptocurrency. So, those who want to see GTA 6 footage are no longer just waiting; some are even paying for it.
CYBERLEEK Begins Monetizing GTA 6 Leaks
The poll presents players with four different options: daytime driving, nighttime driving, daytime motorcycle riding, and daytime airplane footage. Users can vote for the video they want to see using the cryptocurrency $CYBERLEEK. It is claimed that the option with the most support will be released as the next leak.
The strangest part is that some people have actually started investing money. According to shared information, at least one person paid $80 to vote. This figure is quite close to the full price of a new big-budget game. So, someone has spent almost in-game currency to be able to vote for GTA 6 footage whose authenticity hasn’t even been confirmed yet.
Of course, there are two big question marks here. First, Rockstar hasn’t yet confirmed whether all the footage Cyberleek has is actually from GTA 6. Second, it’s unknown whether the leaker will actually abide by the outcome of the vote. On the other hand, Take-Two’s continued copyright removal requests regarding the leaked footage strengthens the possibility that at least some of the videos might be real.
Considering that Cyberleek said a few days ago that they were leaking the footage for “player rights,” this new move seems a bit odd. First saying they opposed the digital pre-order system, then opening up GTA 6 leaks to paid voting via their own cryptocurrency naturally draws criticism. CYBERLEEK appears to have turned its campaign against Rockstar into a direct revenue-generating system.
