Ark 2 Developer Talks About Lost Sequel
Announced at The Game Awards in 2020 with an impressive CGI trailer starring Vin Diesel, Ark 2 has barely been seen since. The game’s release date has been pushed back several times, leading to speculation among fans about whether the game was canceled. However, developer Studio Wildcard has allayed those concerns by announcing an expansion that will tie the series into Ark 2.
Ark: Lost Colony Expansion Pack
Studio Wildcard has announced a new expansion pack for Ark: Survival Evolved, Ark: Lost Colony. The expansion will focus on the character played by Michelle Yeoh in the Ark animated series, and will tie the storylines of Ark’s Extinction and Genesis expansions into the events of Ark 2.

Ark: Lost Colony will be released in June on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms for $30. However, the exact release date of Ark 2 is still uncertain. The development team had postponed the release date planned for the end of 2024, and a new date has not been announced yet.
According to the statements made in 2022, Ark 2 was planned to be released within a year. However, subsequent delays and the absence of any information about Ark 2 in the content roadmap extending until 2026 have raised questions about the fate of the game. Studio Wildcard stated that the development of Ark 2 continues, and aims to give hope to fans of the series with the Lost Colony expansion pack.
Ark 2 has the potential to take the series to the next level by further expanding the theme of survival with dinosaurs. However, the constant delays of the game and the lack of information about it are causing disappointment among fans. Still, the Lost Colony expansion could provide players with a bridge to the wait, both in terms of story and new content.
