Battlefield 6 Confirms It Uses Artificial Intelligence

Battlefield 6 seems poised to become one of the most concrete examples of the use of artificial intelligence, a topic frequently discussed in game development in recent years. As time and cost management become increasingly critical, especially in large-scale projects, EA appears to be turning to different technologies to accelerate this process. This makes the game noteworthy not only for its gameplay but also for its production process.

Battlefield 6 Used Artificial Intelligence in its Development Process

According to shared information, Battlefield 6 heavily utilizes artificial intelligence, particularly in character animations. Thanks to a system called “Voice2Face,” voice recordings are directly converted into facial animations, significantly speeding up lip-syncing in scenes. It’s even stated that approximately 30% of the dialogue animations in the game are created using this method.

However, a similar approach has been used in the character modeling process. Tools like FaceRig, integrated with Autodesk Maya and Flow, have significantly shortened the face modeling process. Processes that could normally take weeks can now be completed in hours, resulting in a substantial increase in efficiency on the development side.

Of course, this also brings about some controversy. While platforms like Steam are expected to transparently disclose the use of AI, the lack of such information for Battlefield 6 is noteworthy. This brings players’ concerns about this issue back to the forefront.

On the other hand, things are generally going well for EA. The game’s commercial success has also been reflected in the company’s financial results. However, it seems that Battlefield 6 will continue to be discussed not only for its sales figures but also for the methods used in its development process.
