Card Version of Exodus Game Coming

It has been announced that the highly anticipated science fiction game Exodus will also be released with a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) version. Exodus, which was first introduced at The Game Awards in 2023, has not yet released an official gameplay video, but it is offering a special opportunity to early supporters.

Exodus Card Version Will Only Be Available in Limited Numbers

According to Exodus’ official website, the card version of the game is offered as a special and limited-time offer for those who participate in the Founder program. If you become a Founder by providing your email address by 21:59 on December 10, 2024, you will receive a special link and code to purchase the main rulebook called Exodus Traveler’s Handbook.

This announcement was made to celebrate the first anniversary of Exodus’s initial announcement and to thank the community. However, details about the TTRPG, such as the game system, long-term support, or special dice, have not yet been shared.

The Exodus video game itself is similarly shrouded in mystery. There’s no gameplay footage outside of pre-render trailers, and it’s unclear what its core mechanics will be. All that’s known is that it’ll deal with the cost of time dilation during interstellar travel. This concept was deliberately chosen, as the game was announced at The Game Awards 2023 by Interstellar star Matthew McConaughey.

Don’t think that Exodus and its TTRPG remake are a scam, though. The game is being developed by Archetype Entertainment, a group of former Bioware developers that includes the creative team behind the original Baldur’s Gate and the Mass Effect trilogy.

Archetype is also a subsidiary of Wizards of the Coast, the giant behind Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. Given that Bioware’s early work was based on older versions of D&D, it seems likely that the Exodus TTRPG will be built on similar foundations.
