Death Stranding 2 No-Combat Boss Option

Hideo Kojima announced during his latest Koji Pro radio broadcast that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will have a special accessibility option. Players will be able to skip a boss fight without fighting with a new option under the “continue” option when they fail. In this option, the story context of the fight will be conveyed to the player in a visual novel style, with text descriptions and images. This way, players can continue the game progress without missing the story.

Kojima stated that this feature was designed specifically for players who are inexperienced in action games. This innovation aims to reach a wider audience for Death Stranding 2. At the same time, it is aimed to prevent players from abandoning the story due to difficulty. This detail once again shows Kojima Productions’ commitment to accessibility.

The game’s development is largely complete. Kojima revealed that the game is 95% ready and his teams are just putting the finishing touches on. “We feel like it’s 10 p.m. right now, so we’ve got two hours left in a 24-hour cycle,” Kojima said, adding that the game is almost complete. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released exclusively for PS5 on June 26, 2025.

Death Stranding 2 will offer players a variety of gameplay styles. They can choose to take an aggressive, stealthy, or combat-free approach against human enemies and supernatural beings. These options will allow players to experience the story in a way that suits their own style. Also, like in the first game, a player’s actions will affect the world of other players. This feature will strengthen the game’s community experience and interaction.

According to the official PlayStation page for Death Stranding 2, the game will offer “incredibly diverse environments filled with a variety of secrets and unique challenges.” The story will continue where the first game left off. The developers aim to provide players with an unforgettable experience with higher resolution, HDR support, and unique environment designs. Kojima Productions continues to work to further develop and polish the game until the release date.
