Escape From Tarkov Will Release on Steam

Escape from Tarkov has been a game that has been on the radar for gamers for a long time. With the latest move by developer studio Battlestate, the Steam page for Escape from Tarkov has been officially confirmed. However, the details players have been eagerly awaiting have yet to be fully shared.

Escape from Tarkov on Steam

A gif shared by studio head Nikita Buyanov on X/Twitter over the weekend quickly sparked controversy. This seemingly humorous post, featuring an old man pressing the steam button on an iron, prompted the community to ask, “Is Escape from Tarkov coming to Steam?” Initially uncertain, these rumors were confirmed with an official announcement on August 31st. Buyanov shared an image featuring the Steam logo and the game’s store page, writing, “Yes! The page will be live soon. More details later.”

Because the Steam page hasn’t yet been launched, there’s no definitive information about pricing, releases, or exclusive content. However, this move is considered a significant step toward the game’s wider reach. Accessing it on Steam, in particular, could provide convenience for players while also expanding the game’s existing community. Whether this release will also be supported by new technical improvements remains to be seen.

Tarkov’s Steam release also coincides with a significant timeframe. Battlestate plans to release version 1.0 of the game on November 15, 2025. Having been in early access for years, the game will now reach its full release. The coincidence of the Steam release with this date indicates that the studio aims to further strengthen the game’s global reach. For players, this means both access to the long-awaited version 1.0 and convenience on a new platform.

Battlestate’s past controversies remain fresh in the community’s mind. The withdrawal of the €300 Unheard Edition’s exclusive PvE mode following player outcry was a prime example of the studio’s poor communication with the community. Whether the decisions and announcements made during this new phase will reinforce player trust will become clearer with the Steam launch.
