First Copies of Metroid Prime 4 Leaked
As the release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond approaches, the early appearance of some physical copies of the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has caused considerable surprise. A photo shared on Reddit quickly spread, prompting discussions about both the potential risks of leaks and Nintendo’s potential response. The fact that a long-developed game has changed hands so early draws additional attention during this period of high expectations.
Metroid Prime 4 Leaks Raise Expectations and Concerns
Metroid Prime 4’s years-long development process makes this early leak even more critical. The game was announced in 2017, completely reset in 2019, and re-handed over to Retro Studios. After years of uncertainty, the emergence of physical copies just days before the December 2025 release date has revived the potential for spoilers and data mining.
Another issue that has caught the community’s attention is the changes to Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s gameplay. The wide-open spaces seen in trailers and the Vi-0-La motorcycle, which speeds up transitions between areas, have been interpreted by some fans as a departure from the series’ traditional atmosphere.
