First Details About the New Xbox Project Helix have Emerged

Microsoft has shared the first official information about its next-generation Xbox console. The company confirmed that the codename for its next console project is Project Helix. This new hardware, referred to as Project Helix, is said to be built on a hybrid structure offering enhanced performance and stronger integration with PCs.

Project Helix Could Unite the Xbox and PC Worlds

According to the statement from Xbox, Project Helix will be a system targeting both console and PC gamers. New Xbox CEO Asha Sharma stated that the console will offer powerful performance and bring the Xbox and PC ecosystems even closer together.

Sharma stated that discussions with developers and industry partners will continue during the Game Developers Conference next week. More technical details about Project Helix are expected to be shared at this event.

On the hardware side, another noteworthy development came from the computing front. AMD previously stated that they are working on the technology to support the new Xbox hardware and hinted that the system could be released around 2027. However, Microsoft has not yet given an official release date.

The new console is expected to face significant competition upon its release. In particular, Valve’s PC-console hybrid device, the Steam Machine, could be one of Xbox’s biggest rivals.
