First Image from the God of War Series has Arrived

The God of War series, produced by Amazon Prime Video, has been eagerly anticipated for a long time. The cast has been finalized, and information about the production process has been released, but there was silence regarding the visuals. Now, the long-awaited first image has arrived. The shared image provides the first concrete clue about the series’ atmosphere, naturally raising expectations even higher.

God of War Series Shows Kratos and Atreus

The official social media post confirmed that production has officially begun. The image shows Ryan Hurst, who plays Kratos, and Callum Vinson, who plays Atreus, in their character costumes. The scene has a composition reminiscent of the opening moments of the 2018 game. The image, with Atreus holding a bow and Kratos standing beside him, seems like a direct reference to the hunting scene.

Frederick E.O. Toye will direct the first two episodes of the series. While the project doesn’t yet have a release date, the fact that a second season has already been renewed is noteworthy. This shows Amazon’s long-term vision for the adaptation. In terms of cast, actors for key characters such as Kratos, Atreus, Sif, Thor, Odin, and Baldur have already been announced.

We’ve seen game adaptations handled more carefully in recent years. Following the momentum gained with The Last of Us, it feels like the God of War series is being prepared with similar meticulousness. The first image suggests a faithful approach to the game in terms of costumes and atmosphere.

There’s no trailer or release date yet, but this first image shows that the process is now becoming concrete. We’ll have to wait a little longer to see what kind of interpretation the God of War series will bring.
