The long-awaited FragPunk will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on April 29, 2025. However, the development team has committed to compensating all players and keeping the game up to date.

FragPunk’s Console Release Date Announced

What Will FragPunk Offer with the Console Version?

FragPunk stands out as a fast-paced 5v5 hero-based shooter. The game offers a different experience in every match with 10 heroes, each with different abilities, and more than 70 card combinations. Players can change the rules of the game by using cards and gain an advantage. The console version will also feature cross-platform support and cross-progression features. In this way, players will be able to maintain their progress while playing on different platforms. In addition, all season 1 rewards and pre-order bonuses will be accessible to console players.

NetEase explained that the initial delays experienced by the console version were due to technical issues in the optimization and adaptation processes. The development team preferred to resolve these issues in order to provide players with a complete experience. In the process, the PC version achieved great success by reaching over 100,000 concurrent players.

Although the game is rich in content, FragPunk’s microtransaction system was criticized by some players. The game’s 9 different currencies and two separate subscription systems caused confusion among players. However, this situation is a common situation as a revenue model for free-to-play games.

FragPunk’s developers plan to keep the game constantly updated with new game modes, characters, and content in the future. Modes such as “Outbreak” in the first season aim to offer players different and fun experiences. As of April 29, console players will also be included in this excitement.
