While the main series has remained silent since Dark Souls 3, a new claim suggests that a remake of the trilogy is possible.
Dark Souls Trilogy Could Return as a Remake
The new claim comes from Shirrako, a gaming YouTuber with millions of subscribers. According to information from his sources, Shirrako stated that remake work for the Dark Souls games is on the agenda and that the project encompasses not just a single game, but the entire trilogy. This information has not yet been confirmed by FromSoftware or Bandai Namco, so it should be considered a rumor for now.
A remaster of Dark Souls 3 has surfaced before. However, if the new rumor is true, the plans could be much bigger than just a graphical update. Specifically, the original Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 could be significantly overhauled with modern controls, technical improvements, smoother animations, and updated environmental designs. Dark Souls 3, being closer to the present day, would likely require more limited visual and performance updates.
