Horizon Hunters Gathering Closed Test Dates Revealed

As the Horizon universe continues to expand, the first playable test date for Horizon Hunters Gathering, announced this month, has been revealed. Developed by Guerrilla and coming to PS5 and PC, the game will be presented to players in a small-scale closed test. New information shared about Horizon Hunters Gathering provides important details about the test content.

Horizon Hunters Gathering Closed Test Begins February 27th

The Horizon Hunters Gathering closed test process will begin on February 27, 2026 and will last until March 1, 2026. The test will be accessible on both PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. Thus, performance and feedback on both platforms will be evaluated simultaneously.

The closed test will feature three playable characters: Sun, Rem, and Axle. Each character is said to have a different play style, suggesting Horizon Hunters Gathering will offer a structure based on team synergy and role-playing.

Players will be able to try two different modes during the test. Machine Incursion is designed as a wave-based survival mode, while Cauldron Desert offers a multi-stage dungeon experience with varying difficulty levels. This mode reinterprets the classic “Cauldron” structure of the universe in a different format.

It was also announced that the full version of Horizon Hunters Gathering will include a story-driven campaign, and the narrative will be fully canon-bound to the universe. Through the social hub area, players will be able to upgrade equipment, visit vendors, and team up with other players. The closed test will offer a first close look at the game’s tactical structure and co-op dynamics.
