Kuroba: Oghuz is Now Available in Early Access on Steam
Developed by Turkish independent game studio Ancyra Studio, Kuroba: Oghuz has been released on Steam as an Early Access title. The game, which centers on a historical atmosphere, focuses on realistic economics, logistics, and combat mechanics instead of fantasy elements. The development team specifically emphasizes that this is not a finished game, but a project that will be expanded over the long term.
Kuroba: Oghuz Will Continue to Develop Through Early Access
Kuroba: Oghuz takes players to 13th-century Anatolia and focuses on the political struggles of the Oghuz Turks. In the game, you establish a small tribe, grow your settlement, plan resource management, and develop your army to participate in real-time battles. The game focuses entirely on historical realism, rather than magic, fantastical creatures, or hero systems.
On the gameplay side, economics and logistics play a significant role. Resources such as wood, food, and animals need to be managed correctly. In addition, formation-based battles are conducted with armies consisting of cavalry and infantry units. The single-player campaign revolves around survival, border conflicts, and tribal management.
Ancyra Studio states that the Early Access phase is only the beginning of the game’s development. Future updates are planned to add new story chapters, maps, civilizations, unit types, and quality improvements to enhance gameplay. Therefore, the current version is not a finished product, but rather a structure that will be shaped by player feedback.
Developer Alper Turhan also emphasized in a social media statement that Kuroba: Oghuz is not a high-budget project. He stated that their main goal was a more comprehensive game called “Nomad,” and that they developed this smaller-scale project first due to the need for a higher budget. He also shared that a large part of the team consists of students, and that the development process was initially slow but is now progressing faster, with the game expected to be expanded with much more content in the coming period.
