Legendary Assassin’s Creed Mechanics Return with Shadows
Ubisoft’s legendary series Assassin’s Creed has been giving players unforgettable moments for many years. With each new game, some features are added and some are removed. However, with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, a mechanic that fans have been waiting for a long time returns: walking assassination. This mechanic is considered one of the most beloved features by fans of the series and is revived with Shadows.
Walking Assassination Mechanic Returns with Assassin’s Creed Shadows
The new game of the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, to be released in 2025, will offer players the opportunity to play as two different characters: Naoe and Yasuke. The gameplay styles of these two characters will be completely different from each other. Naoe stands out as a character who can perform silent and fast assassinations with his background in shinobi training. Walking assassination mechanic plays an important role in the gameplay of this character.
This mechanic was first added to the series with Assassin’s Creed 3, but was removed in new-generation games such as Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. This feature, which returned with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, released last year, will also be included in the Shadows game, providing fans with a nostalgic experience.
Unlike Naoe, Yasuke will be a character focused more on power and direct combat. Yasuke’s gameplay is designed for players who enjoy more action-packed games like Valhalla. This contrast makes Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ gameplay appealing to both old and new generation players.
Creative Director Charles Benoit stated in a statement that Naoe will never be as effective in open combat as Yasuke. However, Naoe’s assassination skills make him indispensable in stealth-focused missions.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on March 20, 2025. The game brings something new to the series with its story set in Kyoto and two different characters, while also satisfying the longing for the past. The return of the walking assassination mechanic has created great excitement among fans of the series.
