Marvel Studios has confirmed Civil War 2

Following Civil War, which brought the ideological conflict between superheroes to the MCU, Marvel Studios has given the green light to a new story that is expected to resonate on a similar scale. In a move that confirms the long-awaited discussions about Civil War 2, the studio officially announced that it will revisit this theme in a new production to be released in 2026.

Civil War 2 Takes Shape in the Daredevil Universe

At the heart of the new Civil War narrative is the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. In this season, Wilson Fisk’s “Safer Streets Initiative” directly targets street heroes and outlaws all masked activities. This approach is presented as a system reminiscent of the Sokovia Accords, but with far harsher consequences.

While Captain America: Civil War offered heroes a choice, Civil War 2 eliminates that freedom. With Fisk’s initiative, government power directly cracks down on the vigilantes, forcing characters like Daredevil to either go underground or openly resist. This forces heroes to re-evaluate their ethical stances and boundaries.

According to producer Sana Amanat, Matt Murdock will attempt to form a vigilante force to counter this new order. Meanwhile, Fisk will increase pressure by deploying the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Thus, the city will be divided into two distinct camps, just like in Civil War; however, this time the conflict will be much darker and more street-level than the Avengers era.

Charlie Cox, the show’s lead actor, describes this new era as “much more frightening for heroes.” Propaganda and public pressure will be key elements of Civil War 2. Daredevil and his allies will have to contend not only with physical threats but also with public perception. Daredevil: Born Again season two will be released on Disney+ in March 2026, officially launching the MCU’s new Civil War era.
