Metroid Ravenous’s Mysterious Rating Revealed
Although there has been no official announcement from Nintendo, a new Metroid Ravenous leak has excited gamers. A record briefly appeared in the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security’s rating system before being removed. However, a screenshot taken before the list was deleted has reignited rumors of a new Metroid game.
Metroid Ravenous Could Be a New 2.5D Adventure
The leaked rating record doesn’t contain many details about the game. It only includes the name Metroid Ravenous and the year 2026. Nintendo or the relevant studios have not yet made any official confirmation.
If the leak is accurate, it seems unlikely to be a new Metroid Prime game. Metroid Prime 4 took many years to develop, and a sequel is unlikely anytime soon. Therefore, many players and industry observers believe Ravenous could be a new 2.5D side-scrolling Metroid game.
A key detail strengthening this possibility is the developer, MercurySteam. The Spanish studio developed the critically acclaimed Metroid Dread, released in 2021. Furthermore, Blades of Fire, released last year, was only one of the two major secret projects the company announced in 2023. The fact that the other project remains unannounced naturally draws attention to the Metroid universe.
For now, there’s only a brief ranking record. Whether this is truly a new game, a possible expansion pack, or a completely different project is unknown. However, considering Nintendo’s renewed focus on the Metroid series in recent years and the success of Metroid Dread, the official announcement of Metroid Ravenous in the near future wouldn’t surprise many players. For now, all eyes are on Nintendo for a possible statement.
