New Evidence for Prototype Remaster Emerges

Prototype Remaster has been a project fans have been clamoring for for years. The freedom and chaotic gameplay offered by the first game quickly garnered a cult following. Now, new signs suggest this unforgettable experience could be reborn with today’s technology.

Prototype Remaster Possibility Grows Strong

Rumors of a new Prototype project emerged in early 2025. A tester’s claim to have tried the game sparked considerable curiosity in the community. While the process has remained quiet since then, it has now been revived with new findings. Recent updates, in particular, have further bolstered the possibility of a Prototype Remaster.

The surprise update released on Steam in September 2025 didn’t go unnoticed by players. Initially appearing as a minor technical fix, it was quickly realized that this update actually contained deeper clues. New content found by data miners in the files has rekindled hopes for the project. Among these, test maps and the addition of new characters are particularly noteworthy.

The emerging data suggests that Iron Galaxy Studios may be involved in the project. The studio, which produced the Spyro Remake trilogy, is no stranger to such remakes under the Activision umbrella. Therefore, rumors of a Prototype Remaster are becoming even more credible. The newly added “Locomotion test map” files suggest that the developers are working to adapt the gameplay mechanics to modern standards.

No official announcement has been made yet. However, fan expectations are quite high, and a potential Prototype Remaster release could spark a revival for the series. The legacy of the first game is still fresh, so a modern version is highly likely to gain traction in the market. For now, all eyes are on the announcements from Activision and Iron Galaxy.
