NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Experiences Huge Leap in Popularity
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 is becoming surprisingly widespread at a time when graphics card prices aren’t particularly appealing. Steam’s July hardware survey showed that the Blackwell architecture model even surpassed some more affordable options. It seems gamers are considering not only the price but also the performance that will allow them to play new games comfortably for longer periods.
Where does the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 rank on Steam?
According to July 2026 data, the usage rate of the RTX 5070 on Steam increased from 3.29% to 3.62%. This places the card just behind the RTX 3060 and RTX 4060 among desktop graphics cards. The fact that there’s only a 0.01 point difference between it and the RTX 4060 suggests that the ranking might change in the next survey.

What makes the rise of the RTX 5070 interesting is its faster growth compared to the more affordable RTX 5060. One reason for this may be that the RTX 5060’s 8GB of video memory is seen as limiting in new AAA games. Gamers seem to be paying a little more for a more powerful and long-lasting model.
A similar picture emerges on the AMD side. The Radeon RX 9070 XT has reached a usage rate of 1.40%, while the RX 9060 XT remains at 0.76%. Despite both models having 16GB of video memory, the higher-end option is receiving more attention, showing that performance expectations are outweighing price.
In the overall graphics card market, NVIDIA maintains its clear leadership with a 72.72% share. AMD is at 18.71%, and Intel at 8.16%. When integrated graphics units and system chips are excluded, NVIDIA’s share of dedicated graphics cards approaches 90%. If the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 maintains this speed, it won’t be long before it rises to second place on Steam.
