Activision-Blizzard brings the game to Steam coincides with the hero shooter exiting early access and transitioning to a full game. It did so with the introduction of three PvE story missions, the new Flashpoint game mode, and the introduction of Support hero Illari. There’s even more for Overwatch 2 fans to look forward to in Season 6, but it seems the majority of Steam users are already fed up with the game.

Less than 24 hours after the game was added to Steam, and it’s already the eighth lowest-rated game on the platform, according to data from Steam 250. A visit to the Overwatch 2 Steam page shows that the game has Overwhelmingly Negative reviews with over 39,000 reviews counted so far.

Browsing through the negative reviews shows that many players are upset about the game’s free-to-play business model, the decision to block PvE missions behind a paywall, the cancelation of the game’s more ambitious PvE features, and the departure of former game director Jeff Kaplan.

Most people recommend playing Team Fortress 2 instead. The few positive reviews mostly just talk about how they’re just happy they can play the game through Steam now instead of the Battle.net launcher.

Over the years, some games managed to fix their negative reviews into mixed status. It’s currently unkown if that will be happen to it as well. But it’s obvious that these low rated reviews will prevent other players to buy Overwatch 2.
