PlayStation 6 Portable Will Support PS5 Games
Leaked information about a portable model of the next-generation PlayStation 6 console has been updated. It was stated that this device, referred to as the PS6 Portable, will be able to play PS5 games but will run them at lower resolutions and frame rates due to technical limitations. According to KeplerL2, who shared the leaks, the PS6 Portable will have a 15W SoC developed with a 3nm production process. This chip is designed differently than the standard PS6 model and is optimized to operate at very low voltage. It is also stated that there are “much less than 40” processing units (CUs) in the portable version. This stands out as one of the main factors limiting the device’s performance.
KeplerL2 states that the PS6 Portable is positioned between the Xbox Series S and the PS5 in terms of performance. However, this assessment is not definitive due to the use of a GPU architecture that has not yet been released in the portable model.
