PlayStation Error Misled Bloodborne Fans
A listing that appeared on PlayStation Stars that hinted at a PlayStation 5 version of Bloodborne‘s “The Old Hunters” DLC raised false hope. However, it has been revealed that this was a mistake and that Sony has no plans to release a PS5 version of Bloodborne. Bloodborne is a critically acclaimed game developed by FromSoftware and available exclusively for PlayStation 4.
PlayStation Error Misled Bloodborne Fans: PS5 Version Doesn’t Reflect Reality
Fans of the game have been calling on Sony for a PS5 remaster with performance improvements. There’s also a large audience calling for the game to be ported to PC, as Bloodborne is one of FromSoftware’s few major games from the last decade that hasn’t been released on PC. However, a screenshot shared on Reddit showed that The Old Hunters DLC was mistakenly listed as a PS5 game. This mistake raised false hope among some gamers that the game could be remastered or ported to new platforms.
While Sony is actively working on porting its PlayStation exclusives to PC, there are reportedly no new projects or development in the works for Bloodborne. Still, given that Demon’s Souls has received a remake 11 years later in the past, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Bloodborne could receive a similar update in the future. In the meantime, PlayStation 5 users can play the game thanks to the console’s compatibility with PlayStation 4, but it’s disappointing that the game hasn’t received an upgrade to take full advantage of the more powerful hardware.
