Red Dead Redemption on the Way to Switch 2
While Red Dead Redemption was already available for Switch, rumors of a Switch 2 are now back in the spotlight. An intriguing listing on a UK-based retailer’s digital store has generated excitement among gamers, but also raised confusing questions.
Red Dead Redemption on Switch 2 Listing
The details were first spotted on the website of retailer Currys UK. The page, titled “Nintendo Switch 2 Red Dead Redemption,” prominently featured an image of the game’s existing Switch port. The image simply read “Download Code Only,” raising questions about whether this was a new digital code sale or a genuine Switch 2 special edition.
The most striking aspect of the page was that the product was listed with a September 2nd date. This date, which was only three days away, fueled speculation that a potential announcement was imminent. Furthermore, the direct use of the term “Switch 2” in the listing and the assignment of a different product code supported the notion that this was not a simple update.
Interestingly, a similar scenario was also seen on the same site for GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The game was listed with the label “Nintendo Switch 2” and the same release date. This suggested that Rockstar might be making more extensive preparations for the Switch 2. Players were anticipating a more robust experience, particularly in terms of performance and visuals.
Of course, none of this is certain until an official announcement is made. However, considering Rockstar’s history of quietly releasing surprise ports, this possibility doesn’t seem to be dismissed. Seeing updated versions of both Red Dead Redemption and other Rockstar games on Switch 2 could be a significant step in understanding the company’s approach to the new console.
