Relooted Release Date Announced

Set in the near future and subverting conventional heist narratives, Relooted stands out with its political background and stylized world. The game centers on the idea of reclaiming cultural heritage after an injustice that cannot be resolved through diplomacy, combining this with fast-paced, fluid gameplay. The coming together of characters from everyday life adds both an intimate and gritty tone to the story.

What Kind of Game Will Relooted Be?

Relooted presents the classic “plan-execute-escape” cycle with a modern deconstruction. Before each heist, players explore the location, devise escape routes, solve puzzles, and place the right team members in the right places. This preparation phase is full of critical decisions that determine the fate of the operation, and it’s built on a balance where a single mistake can make the escape difficult.

At the heart of the gameplay are Nomali’s fluid parkour skills. The countdown begins the moment the artifact is removed, and the tempo suddenly increases. A well-planned operation provides a cinematic escape feel, while missing details can challenge the player with alarms, chases, and unexpected obstacles. This structure inspires a desire to try again in every mission.

Team building is just as important as the escape itself. Characters from different African countries, each with diverse skills, join the team over time. This roster, ranging from hackers to unexpected supporters, diversifies the ways to solve missions and allows for a different strategy in each heist.

Relooted’s world presents a depiction of the future shaped by Afrofuturist aesthetics. A South African-based bunker, reinterpreted cityscapes, and the integration of 70 real-world cultural artifacts into the game elevate the narrative beyond a purely fictional adventure to a powerful thematic framework. Relooted will be released on February 10th for Xbox Series and PC (Steam & Epic Games Store).
