Resident Evil 9 Might be Delayed
Reputable leaker suggest that the Resident Evil 9 reveal may take longer than expected, as the project may have been internally delayed.
The Delay from Resident Evil 9
Capcom keeps releasing one Resident Evil game each year and sometimes announce at least one so next year won’t be dry for Resident Evil franchise. As for 2024, it looks like we might not be getting a new Resident Evil game since we didn’t get any announcement since the launch of Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Meanwhile, the next installment for Resident Evil franchise will most likely be Resident Evil 9 but this might be changed. According to a recent Discord comment by reputable Resident Evil series leaker AestheticGamer, Resident Evil 9 “might’ve been internally delayed some for one reason or another,” and so now it may not be revealed this year and released in 2025 as was once apparently planned. But this space will not stay empty, another Resident Evil game might keep us busy.
In the same comment, AestheticGamer said that they have “seen it suggested” that a different Resident Evil game could be announced and released before Resident Evil 9 now, thanks to the latter’s apparent internal delay. They didn’t provide many specifics on what this mysterious Resident Evil project would entail, but that they think it is “pretty funny” and “would catch a lot of people off guard.” Capcom has released all kinds of Resident Evil spin-offs and remakes over the years, and so it’s really anyone’s guess as to what the project AestheticGamer is alluding to could be about.
Aside from Resident Evil 9, previous leaks did reveal that Capcom is full of Resident Evil games, Resident Evil 5 Remake is on the way, meanwhile Code Veronica X leaks revealed so much information. Survival horror game fans need to wait a little longer but this wait will worth it, we hope.
