Rockstar will fulfill the last wish of a GTA 6 fan

Months ago, a touching message shared on social media drew the gaming world’s attention to GTA 6. Anthony Armstrong, who works at Ubisoft Toronto, revealed that a family member, who had been battling cancer for a long time, had only months to live and that their biggest dream was to play GTA 6. The possibility that this long-time fan might not live to see the game’s release quickly sparked a wave of solidarity.

Rockstar Takes a Quiet but Meaningful Step for GTA 6

In Anthony Armstrong’s message, he expressed hope that his family member, who lived very close to Rockstar’s Oakville studio, could try the game early, provided they agreed to any terms, including a confidentiality agreement. This appeal was quickly shared by thousands and resonated strongly within the gaming world. At the time, it was completely uncertain whether this wish would be granted.

After several weeks, Armstrong updated his LinkedIn post, announcing that the Take-Two CEO had contacted them and that discussions had begun with the Rockstar Games team. This was followed by a short but very clear message: “We spoke with them and received great news.” Details were not shared, but this statement clearly indicated that expectations had been met.

The subsequent deletion of the LinkedIn post was interpreted as a move to a confidentiality phase. The general consensus in the gaming world is that Rockstar will allow this fan to experience GTA 6 early. While there is no official confirmation, the tone and timing of the messages strongly suggest this possibility.

This isn’t the first time Rockstar has done this. Previously, a similar request was granted for Red Dead Redemption 2, giving a terminally ill player the chance to play the game early. This development regarding GTA 6, however, reminds us once again that a game with massive budgets and record expectations can gain a completely different meaning with a human touch.
