Roguelite FPS Guns and Dragons Announced
ABUTTON is preparing to bring a fantastic interpretation to the roguelite FPS genre with its new project, Guns and Dragons. The studio has launched the game’s official Steam and Epic Games Store pages and released the first action-packed gameplay trailer. Guns and Dragons puts players in the shoes of an engineer trying to save a planet in crisis in a universe where magic technology takes center stage.
Guns and Dragons Focuses on Co-Op Action
At the heart of the game is the struggle against a powerful legion of dragons. However, Guns and Dragons doesn’t just want to offer a straightforward shooter experience. At the heart of the game is a system called “build play.” Players can develop their characters and weapons during repetitive battles, creating a different play style with each attempt.
One of the most striking mechanics will be the Rune and Core system. These pieces, earned during combat, will allow weapons to evolve into different forms. This will allow players to not only shoot, but also create weapon combinations to suit their own play style. The real-time weapon switching and upgrading system seen in the trailer seems to keep the game’s pace quite lively.
Guns and Dragons will be playable solo, as well as offering co-op support for up to four players. This aspect could be particularly important for players craving a PvE FPS. Game director Park Jun-woo believes that while the PvE FPS genre has a strong appeal, there haven’t been enough solid options on the market recently. Thanks to ABUTTON’s flexible structure that supports creative ideas, the team is reportedly trying to create a more original game.
ABUTTON is aiming for a Steam Early Access release for Guns and Dragons this year. The studio is also working on the large-scale MMORPG project Zeus: God of Arrogance and other innovative projects. Therefore, Guns and Dragons could be one of the games that will bring ABUTTON even more recognition in 2026.
